Day 16= Charlie our elf riding the moose in T's room. I love to include a picture of Charlie each year this seemed like a fun one to include. In the box on the overlay is a cut up piece of woven wallpaper sample that came with me Spoonflower fabric order. It is cute with a neutral background birds and green fir trees.

Snapped this image yesterday, fell in love with it, converted it to black and white, added some journaling on the photo and sent it off to CVS for printing. I love it so much because T is constantly showing up with this mad bomber, the bogs and no jacket when we are outside on potty breaks with Scout.
I am just posting the image as I may not get to the actual layout today which will be pretty simple 5x7 image on a piece of 6x8 cardstock and a number 15 added somewhere.

Well I continue to do great at doing my actual December Daily so far I have not had to catch up more than a few days which was yesterday morning doing 10, 12, and 13. I do need to be better at posting to my blog. Trying to figure out a way to make it easier. Here is a look at Day 14 going back to Day 4. Loving December even though it is CRAZY BUSY!

Day 8. Absolutley LOVED this idea from Ali. I had saved the bag from a cookie treat that I got for Tripp back in November knowing it was perfect for DD. I never would have thought to use it this way.
Day 7.
Day 6. Today we got a new addition to our family. Little Miss Scout a Yellow Lab. We are in love.
Day 5. Also, Ali's idea... Loved documenting myself working instead of my "work" which I end up doing most years. My cute little photo bomber was a perfect addition.
Day 4. THRILLED I finally documented one of my favorite days in Decmeber, Santa Fund the first Thursday of the month. I do have to go back and write on my journaling card that it is between $8-9k that we raise for local kids not $3-4k. Should be an easy change.
That's a wrap! Hopefully I can keep up posting for the rest of the month.
Day three. Baking a pumpkin pie. I knew somewhere in here I needed to document T's constant love of cooking and baking. Here we are baking a pumkin pie, he has been asking to bake one forever. He doesn't een like pumpkin pie. His faces are hysterical so I couldn't pick just one for day three. This was a foundation page that I hadn't put a number on yet! Perfect!

I planned on posting Day One yesterday morning with the launch of Ali's Day One however that did not work out because Rite-Aid was out of paper! I send my photos to either Rite-Aid, Target or CVS to be printed for this project because they come out so much better. The pictures I printed from my printer in my very first December Daily 2012 were not a good quality. I am sure I pay a little more but in the end it is worth it. With this is the possibility of issues like Monday evening when I ran to Rite-Aid to grab the photos that "were done processing" only to find they were not ready because of that paper issue. I was pretty upset at first but decided not to let it ruin my first DD day!
By the time the morning rolled around I bought Ali Edwards 6 x 8 overlays which I had not planned on doing and I also added the journaling right on the photo which I had not done the night before. All inspired by Ali's first day! Thank you Ali for your constant inspiration.
For the third year in a row our December Daily begins with our tree search. Each of the last three years we have gone to a different place prior to that we ALWAYS went to the place we went to in 2012, Rice's Tree Farm. That year I was off about the place because it had become so commercialized and they had inflated the prices. I love that we are enjoying other tree farms.
Day One-
A 4 pocket cut down to 2 with pics of the littles at the tree farm filling the pockets.
The opposite side of the pockets and the big picture (a view from the tree farm) which was stunning! I added the journaling and put it on top of a printed overlay. Embellishment added glitter star from Studio Calico. Paper from last years December Daily Kit. LOVE.
Day Two
Simple. Our morning snuggling in bed with my favorite Santa mug and T's favorite Christmas Story. Journaling written around the photo on the cardstock overlay.
Embellishments added wood veneer hearts from Studio Calico, tape from Martha Stewart that I got a bunch of years ago.

Very excited that once this post is published I will have made it one day longer with December Daily blog posts than last year. I PRAY to keep posting this week even though it is set to be an insanely BUSY week with 34 orders left to make and get out the door including 22 personalized sweatshirts and 66 headbands. I can do it. I can do it. I can do it.
Day Eleven is the first of Madison's 13th birthday celebrations at my Mom's (Mimi) with the Murphy four. It is very loud when we are all together, very loud. The kids are running and screaming with Tripp trailing not far behind them.

Day Twelve:
The Bailey 2013 Christmas Card FINALLY arrived today and I do love it. I loved having last years Christmas Card in there and will love looking back on this year to see this one. Thank you Ali Edwards for the great idea!
A little confetti pocket with Studio Calico magical Starbursts. A Christmas card I had saved from 5 years ago because I loved it finally made it's way into December Daily. I just LOVE that mitten. A little journaling with a B for Bailey and then the thank you button that was included with an Evalicious order from last year. I saved it hoping I could use that sweet little button card and it turns out today was the day, adorned with the #12 from Studio Calico I love it!
Day Thirteen:
Celebrating Madison one more time with the Bailey side of of the family. She wanted a candy cake (the one with the kit kats and m&m's everyone makes) but G's allergy to peanuts doesn't allow it so I came up with this chocolate cake, thin layer of white frosting, Hershey's Cookies & Cream bars on the outside and Oreos crumbled on top.
Day Fourtneen:
Vellum layer with a stitched box, American Crafts gold numbers, Studio Calico Wood Veneer heart and some journaling.
The picture below was take many days ago when A and T went out in the woods to set up his trail cam. Aaron found it Friday when he took down his trail cam. It just had to be used...perfectly perfect capture of a boy and his bear.

Days Eight. Nine. Ten. are ready...they are not perfect...they are not even close but they are mine, they are done and years from now when I look back all that will matter is that I did it. I will enjoy looking at the pages and reminiscing years that have passed.
Day Eight is pretty simple and the back is incomplete. I may fill it in and I may not.
You can see my Starbucks sleeve underneath that is used for Day Nine. The upper right hand corner is a Studio Calico Journal Card from the Magical collection. I will be honest, I am not sure if I like it or atleast I don't like how it looks in this layout. But...as I work to embrace my imperfections I am leaving it right where it is. I would love to see how Ali would use these overlays... hint, hint!
Day Nine. It finally snowed and stuck to the ground. YAHOO!!! Let it snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! I celebrated with a Starbucks Peppermint Mocha and this is what I documented on Day Nine.
Used a merry & bright overlay from Ali Edwards I think I looked for a link to them in designer digitals earlier this month and could not find it. They are a few years old. The 9 and the J used are from some letter stickers I got at TJ Maxx a couple years ago. I used American Crafts glitter brads (had in my stash from a few years ago) to connect the Starbucks sleeve. which lifts to expose by Peppermint Mocha. The starbucks "flap' idea came from Ali Edwards December Daily 2012...she did a really cool flap and I remembered LOVING it.
Then there was Day Ten...time is going very fast. I should probably start sewing more than I already am. Again here I embrace imperfection with the image of G being a bit grainy. I converted it to black & white and let it be. I just wanted to capture him right then and I did that...who cares if the shot isn't perfectly lit, exposed, etc.

Day six was a pretty simple layout just a quick product picture of an order that I made and shipped that day. I just did a brief overview of what my orders for this season look like compared to what orders were last year. Just stuff I want to look back on and remember. I don't know how much longer I will keep my etsy shop open because of other busy life stuff, but for now I am having fun creating these handmade goods.
I loved these little custom t-shirts I made for set of twins (I had done personalized sweatshirts for them last month) I wanted to remember this shirt. Definitely a favorite. I used a little piece of washi on the top and the bottom and Ali Edwards December DailyDate Stamp in the corner. Fun and simple.
On the morning of Day Seven we went for a special outing at Wolf's Neck Farm in Freeport, Maine for a reading of The Night Tree by Eve Bunting. What a special event it was and I plan to make it a new family Christmas time tradition. I did some journaling on vellum and decorated it a bit with Washi and Studio Calico Magical Stars.

On the picture of Aaron and Tripp I sewed on some American Crafts gold letters. I got these sometime last year and have no idea if they are still sold. The gold 7 in the bottom is from Studio Calico Magical Collection.

Before we left the farm we went in to see the animals, Tripp loved that sweet little goat. Working hard to keep it simple and have fun with it. I do love December Daily so!
And the tree is finally decorated. I pretty much went with the same theme as last year using white feather boa and this year adding 2" wide white muslin which I ran through the dryer to fray the edges for garland. The tree was so big this year that the feather boa was not going to cut it. I used the white fabric strips tied on branches again this year and finally my sweet feathery owls (which my Mom just ordered 5 more of for me.) Having a 2.5 year old that has a super spicy personality is the reason for using items that won't break...maybe next year we will use balls again, maybe.
I decided on a piece of vellum with one of Ali Edwards Handdrawn Holidays (which I can't seem to locate on designer digitals to link up for you) sentiment on top. I like the touch of the vellum, I had never used it before.

I used this years Ali Edwards December Daily 2013 Date Stamp have I mentioned that I love these stamps. The silver ric rak I grabbed at JoAnns a couple weeks ago.
The man yelling "putting up the lights" in that Christmas Song that I can't for the life remember the name of right now is all I could think of while watching my A work or try to work the lights on Tuesday. He had stayed home from work to take care of T because I had a meeting I couldn't miss, when I got home in the afternoon I mentioned that he could work on outside lights that day. I know at that point he was thrilled to have stayed home. Anyway onto Day Three:
Used some Studio Calico elements like the wood veneer stars and arrows and the #3 in the lower right corner. The overlay is Ali Edwards from a few years ago. By the way I love the look of my tomato cage Christmas Trees...this is the second year we have done them.

A filler kind of page. I was happy to have saved some of my fave Christmas cards from last year to use as needed for fillers.
